Fred Perry is one of the most iconic and largest British brands in history. It is best known for easily combining streetwear, sportswear, and casual clothing. When the first collection featuring the popular polo shirt appeared in 1952, the brand achieved instant success. It’s worth noting that initially it was only available in two colors - white and black. The three-time Wimbledon champion originally sold polos as sportswear, which is why the brand is still associated with tennis today.
The brand’s logo is, of course, the laurel wreath, an ancient symbol of victory, triumph, and the most prestigious tennis tournament in the world. Initially, many British subcultures identified with the brand, which in the following years attracted the attention of numerous celebrities. International stars such as Paul Weller, Vinnie Jones, Ewan McGregor, Kelly Jones, and many music bands chose the laurel wreath for its authenticity, style, and unique design. Like many British brands, Fred Perry honours its history and stays true to its original vision.
