Ellesse was founded by Italian tailor Leonardo Servadio in Perugia. With nothing to lose, he turned his craft into his own clothing line. Back in 1959 he dropped his first pieces, designed for classic Italian sports like tennis and skiing. A few years later he did something no one had seen before - he put the brand name right on the outside of trousers. That bold move changed the game and soon brands all over the world followed.

The name Ellesse comes from Servadio’s initials - LS - which quickly became a stamp of style and quality. A simple idea that turned into something huge. His vision of stylish sportswear grew into one of the most recognisable labels on the planet. Today Ellesse sits perfectly between sportswear and street fashion - as much about performance as it is about style.
